Hi,...

We've landed Narita airport punctually.
Our staffs took children to Tokyo station and saw their Shinkansen off 4pm 2nd Aug.
Finally it's over,

After that, some of their parents called me "kids are alright" (The WHO). M... and M...'s mother(@Fukushima) mailed me "As soon as I saw their face at the station, I'm convinced their tour was very successful!" D...'s mother(@Miyagi) told me "The trip was big fun! Incredibly great! screamed D... excitingly"
S..'s mother(@Fukushima) mailed us "It seems to be amazing for him. He speak about his experience with excitement. I don't remember when last time he did so. So I'm very very happy to hear his speaking!"

This time WFJ 2013 was a big success. I think it was beyond 2012. It is entirely due to you, very gentle kind warm Swiss people. I would like to say thank you from bottom of the heart. Without you and your gentle cooperation, it could never be successful. During the days, we've been surprised and impressed at your cares for children at any scenes. From meals, which were all delicious! (especially fish stick and porcini sauce steak!), many arrangements to excursion (Ballenberg museum was most impressive for me!), to speaking to children.
My English is so poor that I was not able to express my feeling at that time, but I, oh I should say, We, noticed every your efforts and felt a lot of thanks to you all.
I appreciate your working for us.

To tell the truth, there were some children who have problems. M... have not gone to school since April and caused a kind of depression. Before 3.11 she had lived near Fukushima Nuclear Plant. Her father is employed in TEPCO and he's now still working and fighting around plant. After explosion of the plants, her familiy moved to safe area in Fukushima far from the plants. Although they started new life, she always recalled good days and escaped into her memory. She have felt her high school students never understood her and her situation, so she suspended to go to school.
H..., who's wearing ..., is suffered from his step father's domestic violence. His father had worked at fish-meat factory. After TSUNAMI, he lost job and changed character, which affected directly H.... So he sometimes has gone wrong way last year. He stopped laughing these days, said D...-san before WFJ tour(She and H... were neighbors at shelter after 3.11).
There are still more than these cases.

I usually speak to every children and sometimes mentioned about their each problems friendly when now it seemed to be OK.
Some told me "I was lucky to be here", "I feel that I can change", like that. R...(@Fukushima) sighed me "World is big.... I found good people in Switzerland. If I've not joined WFJ, I might never know it.". His 3 friends dropped out WFJ on June although they applied entries at first. They has gone wrong and rude way. According to their mother, they had thought WFJ was a good chance to change themselves, but they abandoned for some pride among their group. After cancelling WFJ, they were arrested by police in July because of destruction against ruined house. R... also knows it, so I guess, he's always thinking about his dropped friends.

However, as you've seen, every child got back their smiles in Beatenberg days.
It is a miracle.
It is what we hoped.
I believe they got some important thing in beautiful country.

Going back to Narita, my seat was next to M...(@miyagi) and M...(@miyagi). I asked them what is the best thing in this trip. Two of them answered quickly "Making Swiss friends ! Fabienne, Florence and Hanae san! I never imagined like that!" M... and M...(@Iwate) also answered so.
I guessed that Jungfrau or First or something. But most of them feels communication between us is the best thing of WFJ.
This is definitely what we hoped.

Now we're back in Japan.
I can't say it made them change completely.
But life is so long to them.
I'm sure this experience will affect them in a long way.
They can recall the special moments in CH any time.
I think it will help them go right way.
Yes I believe.

Thank you for everything. Thank you for 2 years to help us.
I can't describe whole things.. I appreciate your cooperation deeply.

I hope we will see in the future again.
(My family will go to in the future!)

Best regards
Ken

Welcome to Wings for Japan

The Tsunami Care Flight is a project for young Japanese people affected by the 2011 tsunami in Japan. Wings For Japan is being carried out by Swiss International Airlines employees, partner organisations and sponsors.

With Wings for Japan we would like to make a difference in the lives of a group of young people by inviting them to Switzerland for a period of time.

Again in 2013, a group of 25 guests from the area in northern Japan that was affected by the tsunami were invited to Switzerland. Following last year’s winter camp, this year a summer camp was organized.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
